Build the binder first. Fill it as you go.

Fossil is 62 cards, which sounds easy until you try to keep them in order. You own a handful, the rest are gaps, and the binder looks like an unfinished project instead of a collection in progress.

This kit fixes that. Print a placeholder for all 62 cards, slot them into your 9 pocket pages in number order, and the binder reads as complete from day one. When a card arrives you pull the placeholder and drop the real card into its exact spot. No reshuffling, no guessing which number goes where.

What is on each placeholder

Card number and its position in the set, the card name, a colour band for the type or category, and the rarity. Nothing else. Quiet enough to sit beside real cards without fighting them, clear enough to read across an open binder.

The colour bands also work as a map. Once the binder is set up you can see the shape of the set and exactly where your holes are without reading a word.

The checklist handles the Fossil foil problem properly

Fossil is not simply 62 cards. There was no Shadowless run, but Fossil was the last set to use the original Starlight or Galaxy foil pattern, and some Unlimited holos exist with the scattered Cosmos pattern instead.

That matters because two copies of the same card can look identical in a listing photo and still be different variants. If you are chasing a true master set, the foil pattern is a column you have to track.

Every card gets its own row with three tick boxes: 1ST ED, UNLTD and COSMOS. There is a grade and notes line beside each row for PSA numbers, condition, or what you paid. The cover page explains the two runs and the foil variant in plain English, gives you rarity totals to fill in as you go, and includes a dedicated tracker for the fifteen holos, because that is where most of the set value sits.

Sizes and printing

Placeholders cut to 63 x 88 mm, just inside a real card at 63.5 x 88.9 mm, so they sit flush in a standard 9 pocket page without bowing the plastic. Print at 100% or Actual size, never Fit to page. Matte cardstock between 220 and 300 gsm gives the best result. Matte beats gloss because gloss grips the inside of the pocket. Eight sheets of cardstock does the whole set.
